The Nigeria Super Eagles have announced their decision not to proceed with their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya’s Mediterranean Knights after being left stranded for 13 hours at Al Abraq International Airport in Libya.
The team grew increasingly frustrated as they awaited transportation, despite the efforts of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to arrange a flight to Benghazi, where the match was scheduled to take place. The long delay, compounded by logistical challenges, left the players and staff in a difficult situation.
Following the ordeal, the NFF has officially notified the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of the Super Eagles' decision to boycott the match, marking a significant development in the team's AFCON campaign.
